Ron Goldsberry - Chairman
Ron Goldsberry is a former Ford Motor Co. executive with more than 30 years of business experience with companies such as Boston Consulting Group, Hewlett-Packard, Gulf Oil Company, and NASA Ames Research Center. Mr. Goldsberry is currently Chairman of the Board of OnStation, the pioneer of customer retention and satisfaction solutions that increase sales for enterprises and shops in the automotive services industry, and is on the Board of Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Phillip Whalen - President and CEO
Phillip Whalen has been in high-tech for more than 30 years and has held executive management positions in the software industry since 1985. He was most recently a full-time executive consultant serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Wit SoundView, a New York investment bank. Previously, Mr. Whalen was with E*OFFERING, E*TRADE's online investment banking venture, where he was Executive Vice President of the company's marketing, Internet, and services initiatives. During his tenure, Mr. Whalen helped spur a turnaround and subsequent acquisition by Wit SoundView. Prior to E*OFFERING, Mr. Whalen was Vice President of Sales and Corporate Marketing at ShareData, the leading provider of equity compensation software. His efforts at ShareData significantly contributed to the company's acquisition by E*TRADE, where he subsequently continued in the same capacity.
Mr. Whalen's accomplishments include serving as the original Vice President of Sales and Marketing at cc:Mail, Inc., at a time when it was ranked as one of the top 10 fastest growing software companies. cc:Mail was acquired by Lotus Development Corporation, and at its height had more than 20 million users. Following cc:Mail, Mr. Whalen served in a series of executive management roles where he enabled software companies to achieve rapid growth and major product recognition, including serving as President and CEO of Thinking Tools, a public multi-media business simulation software company.
Mr. Whalen earned a BA in Chemistry from Denison University, an MA from Webster University, and an MBA from Stanford University.
Andre Turenne
Having been in the high technology industry for 20 years, Andre Turenne brings to NeoCarta technical and operating experience combined with a history of successful venture investing. Prior to NeoCarta, Mr. Turenne was Senior Manager of Strategic Investments with Intel Capital, with an emphasis on software infrastructure, enterprise software, and middleware investments. In addition to his corporate venturing background, Mr. Turenne also spent two years as a General Partner at Highgate Ventures. Some of Mr. Turenne's prior investments include: Active Software (acquired by WebMethods), Extricity (acquired by Peregrine Systems), Persistence Software (IPO), RedHat (IPO), Selectica (IPO), SilverStream (IPO, acquired by Novell), VA Linux (IPO) and WebLogic (acquired by BEA Systems).
Mr. Turenne received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and was recognized as valedictorian of his class when receiving his MBA from Northeastern University.
